The scholarship, worth £7,500, will go towards the total cost of attending the Harvard University Secondary Summer School Programme. 

Selection by Who Cares? Scotland does not guarantee a place at the Harvard Summer School, but  if we select you to receive sponsorhsip we will support you to then apply directly to Harvard. 

Applications should be returned to Who Cares? Scotland National Office by mid-day Friday 24 February 2012.

The Who Cares? Scotland & Spark of Genius Trust Scholarship has been set up to provide financial help and practical support for young people with experience of care in Scotland to attend the Harvard University Summer School Programme (SSP) in Boston USA. George Fraser from Dundee had the experience of a lifetime at Harvard in 2010. 

Who can apply?

Young people who will be aged over 16 at the start of June 2011, are ‘looked after’ or who have experience of living in care in Scotland, are planning to go to university or college and who are able to travel to USA unaccompanied are eligible to apply.

How do I apply?

All you need to do is complete the application form which you can download from this page. We need you to tell us in no more than 500 words why you want to take part in the Harvard Summer School Programme.
